The glace pineapple in light fruit cake

Re Delia's fabulous Light Glace Fruit Cake which I have made for many years ( Christmas book) - I cannot track down glace pineapple or angelica locally. Online prices are pretty high. Could crystallised pineapple be used instead? Or any other suggestions welcomed! Thank you
